No. It’s double-wall commercially pure titanium, so it won’t rust the way a steel bowl can, and won’t crack or chip like ceramic or stone. The crystalline surface is the titanium itself, brought out by heat — not an enamel or coating layered on top — so there’s nothing to flake into your soap.
It takes the chill off and holds warmth for roughly the length of a shave — treat that as a bonus, not a heated scuttle. The double wall’s main job is structure: a comfortable grip and a planted feel on the counter so the bowl doesn’t skate while you load the brush.
The bowl is 115 mm across (about 4.5″) and 55 mm tall — wide enough to load and face-lather a standard 24–26 mm knot, including ORMIXA Harbor brushes. It holds enough lather for a full three-pass shave.
Rinse with warm water after each shave and wipe it dry. Titanium needs no seasoning or oiling, and there’s no coating to baby. If hard-water spots build up, a wipe with diluted white vinegar clears them.
Not in the traditional sense. A classic scuttle has a separate chamber you fill with hot water to keep lather warm. This is a sealed double-wall bowl — no water chamber, nothing to fill or drain. It builds and holds lather without the extra step.
